Terms of Service

By using Feedrate you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short.

What you get

Feedrate is free to download and requires a single one-time purchase of $8.99 to unlock. That purchase is a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on the devices associated with your Apple Account. It is not a subscription: there is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

The numbers are a starting point, not an instruction

This is the important part. Feedrate calculates suggested cutting parameters from published data averaged across manufacturers. Those suggestions are conservative starting points for an experienced operator to judge — they are not a guarantee that a given cut is safe, appropriate or correct.

Actual results depend on things the app cannot see, including:

• the specific tool, its coating, geometry and condition
• the rigidity of your machine, holder, fixturing and workpiece
• coolant type and delivery
• the true composition and heat treatment of your material

You are responsible for verifying any value against your tool manufacturer's datasheet and your own judgement before running it. Machining is hazardous. Nothing in this app replaces training, proper guarding, or the machine manufacturer's instructions.

No warranty

Feedrate is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the calculations are error-free or suitable for any specific job.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Indie Apps is not liable for any damage to tools, machines, workpieces or property, for lost time or profit, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Feedrate. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly, but if something is broken, email us — we would rather fix it.

Acceptable use

Do not decompile, resell or redistribute the app, and do not attempt to circumvent the purchase. Beyond that, use it however is useful to you, including commercially.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
